It's time to sharpen your axe, tighten those braids, and pop a few 'shrooms (okay, it's always time for that) because History has set a premiere date for the third season of Vikings. Ragnar—pardon me, KING Ragnar—returns to our world on Thursday, February 19 at 10pm. Just like Seasons 1 and 2, Season 3 will consist of 10 episodes.
And ooh la la, those 10 episodes will see our brutish friends knocking on—and then kicking down—the front door of Paris! I can't wait to see what they do to Euro Disney. Ragnar will also be dealing with King Ecbert's (continued) promises of land and riches.
In addition to announcing a premiere date, History also released details on four of the new characters we'll be meeting in Season 3. Kalf (Ben Robson) is Lagertha's handsome second-in-command who may be more ambitious than she thinks; Harbard (The Strain's Kevin Durand) is a stranger who has a mystical connection to Queen Aslaug, Siggy, and Helga; Emperor Charles of France (Lothaire Bluteau) sounds like a guy who's going to get his face punched in by Ragnar; and Princess Gisla (Morgane Polanski) is Charles' daughter, so you know she'll be trouble.
