Modern Family Tops the SAG Award Nominations; Orphan Black's Tatiana Maslany Earns Her First Major Nod

The Screen Actors Guild has revealed the nominees for the 21st annual SAG Awards, and Modern Family leads the list with four nods. 

Meanwhile, Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany has finally scored her first major industry mention. 

Maslany will face off in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series category against Claire Danes (Homeland), Viola Davis (How to Get Away With Murder), Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife), defending champ Maggie Smith (Downton Abbey), and Robin Wright (House of Cards). If Margulies wins, she'll hold the sole record for most SAG wins in history, with nine; she and Alec Baldwin are currently tied with with eight.

Modern Family will aim for its fifth straight win in Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. The show's cast is up against those of The Big Bang Theory, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Orange Is the New Black, and Veep. 

In the race for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series, Modern Family stars Eric Stonestreet and Ty Burrell—the latter of whom won last year—will compete against Louis C.K. (Louie), Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), and William H. Macy (Shameless).

Two-time Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series champ Boardwalk Empire will vie for a third trophy against Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, House of Cards, and Homeland. Boardwalk's Steve Buscemi will also contend for his third statuette in the competition for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series against Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), Kevin Spacey (House of Cards), andTrue Detective's Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey. 

The 21st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will air live Sunday, January 25 at 8pm Eastern / 5pm Pacific on TNT and TBS. Check out the full list of nominees in the television categories below:
